This housing project looks to develop a new design strategy for the interstitial spaces of Detroit. On an urban scale, the building connects the light rail (people movers), vehicular transportation and pedestrian paths through a seamless sealed circulation.
The residential tower bridges over an existing flyover. The void between the flyover and tower is transformed into an experiential, urban, hydroponics garden. The modular residential units are fixed to a suspended truss super structure. Each module can be broken down into 9 units that are prefabricated and transported to site.
